About Me

Who am I?

Well to start, I’m desperately trying to resist making a Jean Val Jean joke right now and it’s making me miserable…

Ok, but seriously my name is Maureen and I am an elementary school teacher in Nova Scotia, Canada. I specialize in grades P-3 and teaching French as a Second Language.

I’m currently completing my M.Ed as part of the Inclusion Cohort at StFX, and have a B.Ed from StFX, Advanced Diploma in Public Relations from NSCC, a Masters in Canadian History from U of T, and Honours History degree from StFX and a diploma in Theatre from the Neptune Theatre School Pre-Professional Training Program. I guess you could say I love school... and student debt.

Some of my teacher interests include the arts, social-emotional learning, STEAM, coding, robotics, inclusive education, and fostering a love of reading and learning. I love puns, music, baking, Harry Potter, crafts, animals, and learning new things.

I am currently a Logics Ambassador, the Secretary for the Nova Scotia Language Teachers’ Association, and probably volunteering for too many things so that I can procrastinate from less desirable tasks.

I find writing about myself pretty difficult so let’s leave it at that for now.
